Freshdesk has spent the last couple of years rebuilding itself around AI: Freddy AI Agent sessions, AI-assisted routing, AI insights on the higher tiers. That's a real strength if you want a platform that automates a growing volume of tickets across a support team. It's also a lot to buy, configure, and pay for if your actual support operation is one or two people fielding requests from a client list you know by name.
Ravine Desk skips the AI-sessions-as-a-product model entirely. The AI assistant is just there, on every plan, doing the two things a small shop actually wants: a daily briefing and one-click ticket analysis, without a separate usage meter to watch.
Freshdesk fits a support team of five, ten, or more agents that wants automation to absorb rising ticket volume, and that has someone whose job includes managing the AI configuration and the per-agent licensing. Ravine Desk fits a shop where the person doing the support work is also the person doing the billing, the project work, and everything else, with no dedicated support-ops role required.
| Feature | Ravine Desk | Freshdesk |
|---|---|---|
| Client portal | Included on every plan | Included, branding options vary by tier |
| Email-to-ticket | Included on every plan | Included on every plan |
| Billable hours tracking | Built in, rolls into per-client reports | Not native; timesheet apps exist in the marketplace |
| AI assistant / triage | Included on every plan; deeper triage on Team & Pro | Freddy AI Agent sessions included per plan, additional sessions billed separately |
| Agent-seat / API access | Agent Seats: bearer-token REST API for AI agents, early-access add-on | REST API included for integrations, not designed around an AI-as-technician model |
| Pricing model | Flat monthly price per workspace | Per-agent per-month, billed annually |
Per Freshworks' published Freshdesk pricing (freshworks.com/freshdesk/pricing), the current lineup is three paid tiers, no ongoing free plan: Growth at $19/agent/month, Pro at $55/agent/month, and Enterprise at $89/agent/month, all billed annually. Every plan includes a bucket of Freddy AI Agent sessions, with more available at $49 per 100 sessions if you go over.
Ravine Desk's pricing doesn't scale with seats: Solo at $15/mo (founding price $12/mo), Duo at $39/mo (founding price $29/mo), Team at $89/mo (founding price $59/mo), and Pro at $179/mo (founding price $99/mo), each with a 14-day free trial and no credit card. A two-person shop on Duo pays one price regardless of which of the two is logging in that day.
You're running a support team with rising ticket volume and want AI doing real triage and resolution work across agents, with the reporting and admin controls that come with a larger platform. Freshdesk's automation is built for that scale, and the per-agent pricing reflects a real product, not a markup for its own sake.
You want the client-facing polish (the portal, the email handling, the professional look) without buying into a per-agent AI metering system you'll barely use at your volume. Billable hours tracked right on the ticket is also just missing from Freshdesk without an add-on.
