HubSpot built Service Hub as one piece of a CRM platform that also does marketing and sales. That's the whole pitch: one system of record for every customer interaction, ticket included. It's a strong pitch for a company where marketing, sales, and support all need to see the same contact record. It's a strange one if support is the only piece you need, because you end up paying seat prices calibrated for a much bigger platform.
Ravine Desk doesn't try to be a CRM. It's a help desk, and the pricing reflects that: you're not subsidizing marketing automation you'll never touch.
Service Hub fits a company already invested in HubSpot for marketing or sales, where unifying customer data across departments is worth the price and the setup. Ravine Desk fits a shop where support is its own job, not a spoke off a bigger CRM wheel, and where the client portal and ticket queue are the whole point.
| Feature | Ravine Desk | HubSpot Service Hub |
|---|---|---|
| Client portal | Included on every plan, branded subdomain | Customer portal available on Professional and above |
| Email-to-ticket | Included on every plan | Included, tied into the shared CRM inbox |
| Billable hours tracking | Built in, rolls into per-client reports | Not a native feature |
| AI assistant / triage | Included on every plan; deeper triage on Team & Pro | AI features concentrated on Professional and Enterprise tiers |
| Agent-seat / API access | Agent Seats: bearer-token REST API for AI agents, early-access add-on | Broad HubSpot API, built around CRM objects rather than an agent-technician model |
| Pricing model | Flat monthly price per workspace | Per-seat per-month, scaling sharply by tier |
Per HubSpot's published pricing (hubspot.com/products/service), there's a free tier for basic ticketing and team email. The paid Starter tier runs roughly $20/seat/month at list price (HubSpot has shown lower promotional rates for new customers, so treat that as a starting point, not a floor). Professional runs about $100/seat/month and Enterprise about $150/seat/month, both aimed at teams that need the help desk workspace tied into HubSpot's broader CRM tooling.
Ravine Desk's pricing doesn't jump by tier the same way: Solo at $15/mo (founding price $12/mo), Duo at $39/mo (founding price $29/mo), Team at $89/mo (founding price $59/mo), and Pro at $179/mo (founding price $99/mo), every plan flat, regardless of seat count within its limits, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card required.
Marketing, sales, and support all need one contact record and you're building (or already running) that stack on HubSpot. The Professional and Enterprise tiers make sense once the CRM unification is actually paying for itself across departments.
Support is its own function, not a module inside a sales platform, and you'd rather pay a flat price for a focused tool than a per-seat price for a corner of a much larger one.
